Where There Is Room
“Sorry, there is no room here for you.”
Those were the words.
Even with a young girl, expecting her first child…there was no room.
No room for Jesus.
“Sorry, no room.”
How often He has heard those words.
No room in the world…not for Jesus.
No room at the ballpark…no room at the office…no room at the party.
No room for Jesus.
Even on His birthday…our biggest celebration…there is no room.
No room for Jesus…not in the world.
How sad…how lonely.
The young couple left and went to the stable and it was there He was
born…in a stable…with the animals…because there was no room.
But things change…and while there was never room for Him in the world, the
boy grew into a man who died on a cross…the Son of God, dying for us.
And it was there…on the cross…in His death…it was there room was
made…room for you and for I.
“There’s room at the cross for you.”
That’s what the song says.
It was at the cross Jesus made room for me.
He made room for you.
And that is the gift.
No room for Jesus in the world, but room for each of us at the cross.
Room for each of us eternally to be with Him.
“I go to prepare a place for you”…those were His words.
Jesus has gone to prepare room for us…eternal room for us…forever
with Him.
And while there is still no room for Him in the world…we are not of the
world… and there is room for Christ in our hearts.
It is there He resides.
In our hearts…room for Him.
At the cross…room for us.
“I stand at the door and knock and if anyone opens the door, I will
come in.” Come,
Lord, there is room here for you.
No room at the inn…but room at the cross…and room in our hearts.
Thanks be to God!
