More Than Enough

James 4:6   “But He gives us more grace.”

I love the book of James.  It challenges us from our actions to our hearts.  It forces us to examine our priorities.  And, contrary to what many might say, it proclaims great promises.

Of course, James doesn’t sugarcoat his words.  In the fourth chapter, he challenges the motives behind our quarrels as well as our prayers.  He calls our attention to priorities that revolve around the world instead of God and call those who are friends to the world “adulterous people.”  He challenges the “envious intensity of our hearts.”  On first notice, all seems bleak.  But keep reading…one of most wonderful scriptures in the Bible follows when he says, “But He gives us more grace.”

Now that, my friends, is a promise!  No matter how bad it seems, God’s grace is more than enough to overcome.  No matter how dark it gets, His grace is more than enough to show the light.

Got sin?  God’s grace is more than enough to cover it.  The blood of Christ more than covers our selfishness, our greed, our pride…you know, all that stuff that separates us from Him.  The gap is wide and deep, but God’s grace is more than enough to build the bridge that enables God to enter our lives.

What about loneliness?   Oh, yes, those times when we feel so alone…so isolated…so in need of a friend…when we starve for just one word of encouragement from another human being…just one “I love you.”  We all need to know that someone cares.  There is great news!  God’s grace is more than any loneliness we world can cast on our shoulders.  His grace is more than our need for love.  His grace is ever present…we will never be alone!

Whatever the problem…however the dark the cloud…no matter how high the mountain or how heavy the cross…God’s grace is more…more than enough.

How’s your day today?  Difficult?  Hard?  Long?  Lonely?  Challenging?  Boring?  Full of conflict?  Absent of love?

God’s grace is more…more than enough to take your day and turn it in to a blessing.  Are you smiling?  GOD LOVES YOU!

    And that’s MORE THAN ENOUGH!

Thanks be to God!

Love in Christ,
Billy
