Dying to Reach You

We’ve heard the expression a thousand times: “I’ve just been dying to reach you!”  It means someone has wanted to let us know something real bad—they’ve made an effort—it was important for them to let us know something.

It makes us feel good—that someone would care enough about us to try that hard.  It always feels good to know someone cares.

It occurred to me that is exactly what God was trying to do.  He wanted us to know something—something really important.  He wanted to tell us something—something that would change our lives forever, for eternity.  God wanted us to know He loves us—always—unconditionally—He loves us.  And how did He let us know this amazing truth?  He could have told a million ways, a million times.  But God didn’t try just any way.  What He wanted us to know was too important.  There was only one way.  He sent His Son to die for us on the cross.  The death of Jesus Christ lets each of us know individually just how much God cares for us.  To allow your only Son to die for a sinner like me—that is nothing less than amazing—“amazing grace.”

I close my eyes and I see Jesus on that cross—I see him dying to reach me—dying to reach you.  That’s how much God cares.  I can speak for no one else, but my life will never be the same.  How can I respond to such a love?

So the next time you are wondering about the blessings of life—the next time you think no one cares—remember Him.  Remember Jesus-dying to reach you….it makes all the difference in our lives.

Love in Christ,
Billy
